Coached in the 1995 National Championship Game in the Fiesta Bowl vs. Nebraska.
Has coached on five conference championship teams (Duke - 1989, Florida - 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995).
Coached inside linebackers in 1995, including All-SEC selection Dexter Daniels and SEC All-Freshman choice Johnny Rutledge.
As tight end coach in 1994, assisted with a Gator offense that set school and SEC records for points (521), touchdowns (69), and passing touchdowns (43) and finished second in the nation in scoring offense (43.4 ppg.), fourth in passing offense (311.7 ypg.) and eighth in total offense (462.8 ypg.).
As recruiting coordinator the 1995 recruiting class was ranked among the top three in the nation, while the '96 class was among the top 10.
As linebackers coach from 1990-93, Florida ranked among the nation's top-10 rushing defenses in three of four seasons. The Gators finished fifth in the nation in 1990 and 1991, and ninth in the country in 1993.
The 1990 Gator defense ranked fifth in the nation in total defense and second in the SEC, giving up just 257.6 yards per game. UF's rush defense ranked fifth in the nation, yielding just 85.5 ypg, the best in school history.
The 1982 Appalachian State defense led the Southern Conference in pass defense. The defense allowed a 43.4 completion percentage, fifth-best in Division I-AA.
At Lees-McRae Junior College, the 1980 defense ranked 12th in the final NJCAA rankings, allowing just 95 points in 10 games.
As a high school coach, compiled a record of 44-19-1 and led his teams to conference championships in 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979. His defenses allowed an average of nine points per game over six seasons.
